BACKGROUND

NARIP members have made placements through these limited enrollment sessions, including most recently Peter Kimmel who placed a song from his catalog (“Soul of a Man Never Dies”) in an episode of True Blood following our session with Gary Calamar earlier this year in Los Angeles. He has also placed a song in Dexter (“Jhaira”) which airs on October 23, 2011 in the US. You can read more about this here.

These sessions should be of particular interest to those who represent catalogs and/or seek intimate pitch opportunities with the best (and busiest) music supervisors in Los Angeles.

Limited to 15 people, NARIP’s sessions enable you to get to know the supervisors and more importantly, enable them to get to know you. At private sessions in Los Angeles, Berlin, San Francisco and New York, participants have been able to pitch for current opportunities on the spot, receive instant feedback as to whether a song was appropriate or not, and WHY. This valuable feedback makes better pitches – and ultimately, placements – possible. In some cases, participants even had time to re-work their music to better fit a supervisors’ needs.

Above all, attendees MET key players in the modern music business, paving the way for future opportunities and giving them an edge in a highly competitive market.

At each session in London, participants will have the opportunity to pitch music for specific opportunities that will be emailed to them in advance of the session. Participants then present music and get immediate, direct feedback from one music supervisor.

What attendees say about NARIP’s Music Supervisor Sessions held earlier this year in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Berlin and New York:

  • “I’ve had 3 managers and 5 years of plugging away on the Internet for contacts and had more success getting material in front of a music supervisor with NARIP’s sessions than anything previously! Please keep it up, I will definitely attend more!” – Shay Dillon, Independent (attended Gary Calamar’s session in LA)

  • “I applaud NARIP in establishing these sessions!” – Richard Khuzami, Dahdoo Productions (attended Jessica Dierauer session in New York)

  • “Such an amazing night … I have been to many such events in the past where I had the opportunity to meet some major industry leaders but have never felt this kind of intimacy and accessibility and came away feeling like I really made a super connection in the industry… At Jessica’s session I gave her a CD of 30 and 60 second clips of some of my songs. Her assistant emailed me yesterday (before I even followed up!) to say that they can use some of my tracks and needed some metadata (another lesson I learned at NARIP’s session about imprinting metadata onto all tracks!). So I am thrilled to have made such a great contact in the ad biz because of NARIP. So how can I not attend all your amazing sessions knowing I will make such high level contacts that would have been very difficult for me to have made on my own? … I can’t wait for the next session!” – Gail Vareilles, Sandshifter Music (attended Jessica Dierauer session in New York)

  • “Please keep me informed of the next NARIP sessions in London and LA. Once again, many thanks for the opportunity to pitch [at the Berlin NARIP Supervisor Sessions].” – Reza Davoudi, Nineteen95 Artist Management (attended Andrea von Foerster’s and Gary Calamar’s sessions in Berlin)

  • “Was lots of fun and learned a ton of new things. Both Jessica and Ed were great. I like how all of you are mindful of folks who might not be that familiar with the industry and always provide explanations of definitions that may not be as widely known. Also, the anecdotes (e.g. Serge Gainsbourg’s daughter rejecting AXE) are priceless. Thanks again for coordinating these wonderful sessions. I will highly recommend to others.” – David Liang, Shanghai Restoration Project (attended Jessica Dierauer session in New York and John Houlihan session in Los Angeles)

  • Thank you very much for the very interesting pitching session with Andrea at the Popkomm. I would be very keen to take part [in NARIP’s London Supervisor Sessions].” – Christoph Becker, Moanin’ Records (attended Andrea von Foerster’s session in Berlin)

  • “[NARIP’s Music Supervisor series] is a very effective and beneficial program to get contact with the local and national supervisors who run the film and TV industry.” – Robert Case, President, New Pants Publishing (attended Carolyn Richardson, Gary Calamar and Julianne Jordan and sessions in Los Angeles)

  • “Great event with PJ Bloom! Definitely an uncommon opportunity.” – Joel Evans, Cinemasters (attended PJ Bloom session in San Francisco, and Jessica Dierauer session in New York)

  • “Thank you once again for a fantastic series of supervisor sessions. Looking forward to many more sessions and events with NARIP… Thank you all for your professionalism, earnestness and care in providing the very best for us. We SO appreciate everything you do. [NARIP provides] incredible value.”” – Ben Bidlack, Bees & Honey Music (attended all seven sessions in Los Angeles and PJ Bloom session in San Francisco

  • “It was really great. Will attend the [sessions] in October. Jessica was really lovely and everyone was so talented.” – Sarah Nagourney, Glassbeat Music (attended Jessica Dierauer session in New York)

  • Very, very informative and helpful. These are fun and the supervisors have been extremely willing to share very useful info. – Catharine Wood, Planetwood Productions (attended Andrea von Foerster, Julianne Jordan and John Houlihan sessions in Los Angeles)

  • “Thank you and the NARIP staff for the supervisor session with Jessica… This was a ‘crash course’ in what an advertising music supervisor needs versus a music cues written for TV shows (which is what I was familiar with)…. I already signed up for the next session on the 27th.” – Classical arranger / composer / producer Sor Harris (attended Jessica Dierauer session in New York)

  • “I found the session extremely interesting/helpful, and I look forward to attending the rest of the series.” – Jacob Weinrib, Parma Licensing (attended Jessica Dierauer session in New York)

  • “Last night’s program was awesome, well-organized, inspiring. Chris Mollere was great, with positive yet constructive comments for us all.” – Annie Calder, Coral West Music (attended Chris Mollere’s session in Los Angeles)

  • “I really enjoyed the event and definitely see the value in the intimacy of it. I’m on board for more as well as doing some LA stuff and London.” – Freddy Charles, Freddy Charles Music (attended Jessica Dierauer session in New York)

  • “Thank you again for providing one of the more professional and useful events that I have ever attended. It was intimate, precise and well-executed. The feedback was immediate and valuable.” – Eric Caver, PTEC Dojo (attended Andrea von Foerster session in Los Angeles)

  • “Another successful and extremely well-organized NARIP event, please keep them coming! … [it was] an amazing opportunity to pitch our music to Gary Calamar in such a personal and focused setting.” – Sven Spieker, Mighty Generation Music (attended Gary Calamar, Andrea von Foerster and Chris Mollere sessions in Los Angeles)

  • “What a wonderful job NARIP is doing in putting together these events that help professionals connect and share information. And how cool a person you are. Kudos to NARIP and your wonderful team.” – Daniel Indart, Latin Music Specialists (attended Chris Mollere and Julianne Jordan sessions in Los Angeles)

ABOUT THE EXPERT

Chris Mollere, Fusion Music Supervision
Music Supervisor Chris Mollere’s diverse interest in the world began quite early in life. Growing up in a military family, he traveled extensively while living in Europe and various stateside locations. At an early age he developed a unique appreciation and love for all styles of music. He especially credits his family’s love of music and his father’s extensive record collection as an early influence. His passion and love of music evolved even further as he began attending concerts and playing music himself. Chris attended and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, and in addition to receiving an excellent education in the areas of psychology, advertising and business, he participated in countless music events that the city and state had to offer. Living in Austin provided Chris unlimited opportunities to attend concerts ranging from the most seasoned performers to a diverse variety of new artists. Becoming friends with many musicians and music venue owners provided Chris with a unique perspective of the behind the scenes challenges and business aspects of music. To further expand his knowledge of the music business, Chris worked with bands in management, production and promotional capacities. These early positions helped Chris understand many of the diverse facets involved in the music industry. After graduation, Chris moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue a full time career in music and entertainment. One of Chris’s first jobs was as a Producer’s / Composer’s Assistant at Music Forever in Hollywood. There he served as a liaison with record labels, advertising agencies, directors and producers while working on a plethora of projects. One of these projects was the film Memory, which provided Chris his first opportunity to work as a music supervisor, an experience that would confirm he could fuse together his passion for music and film. Since then, Chris has had numerous credits as a music supervisor, including working on the ABC Family Television series Kyle XY and 10 Things I Hate About You, as well as on the feature films The Box, I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell and The Haunting of Molly Hartley. Chris is currently the music supervisor for the CW television series The Vampire Diaries as well as for the ABC Family series Greek and Pretty Little Liars. He has recently completed the soundtrack for Season One of The Vampire Diaries, which was released on Capitol Records in October 2010, and he recently completed working on the soundtrack for Season One of Pretty Little Liars which is out on Water Tower Records.

Program Moderator for this session is Ed Razzano, VP of Film, TV & Catalog Marketing, BMG Chrysalis

Ed Razzano, VP of Film, TV & Catalog Marketing, BMG Chrysalis. Until recently he was VP of Business Development for Ricall, an automated online music licensing platform supported by real-world music licensing experts. Prior to this was Senior Director at BMG Music Publishing in New York. At BMG he was responsible for negotiating synchronization licenses for advertising and merchandising in the US. While at BMG Razzano gained extensive international experience as he was also responsible for international clearance of all BMG’s US repertoire for music in advertising campaigns around the world. Razzano’s almost 20-year industry experience is drawn from far beyond his time at BMG Publishing. He started his career at a TV commercial editorial house, Crew Cuts Film & Tape, then went on to join the music department of one of the world’s largest advertising agencies at the time, DMB&B. His experience was fortified by positions at CBS Television as well as Universal Music Publishing and Independent music publisher, Spirit Music Group where as Senior Creative Director he oversaw all the film, television and commercial synchronization licensing.

ABOUT JENNIFER STILSON

Jennifer is currently Vice President of Creative Music Integration at VH1. With the direction of the Music Executive on the show, she helped coordinate the booking of all the musical performances, five days a week. It was during that time that she discovered her passion for breaking artists through television. Many first time appearances including Bush, Marilyn Manson and Notorious B.I.G were a part of her tenure at The Jon Stewart Show. When the show came to a close about a year later, she followed her boss to VH1’s Music and Talent Relations department. For the next several years she served as a label representative and music talent booker for all manner of series and specials across the channel. In late 2008 she was given the opportunity to start VH1’s Creative Music Integration, a music supervision group with a view toward promoting all placements of developing artists’ music within programming. CMI also works on various projects for VH1 Classic and Logo. Her musical taste spans all genres: from Metallica to MJ, Chaka Khan to Tupac, she loves it all. She also fancies goat remix videos more than she cares to admit.

DETAILS

What do Jessica Dierauer, Jean Scofield, Paul Greco, Mike Boris, Josh Rabinowitz and Ryan Fitch have in common? They are all special guests at NARIP Music Supervisor Sessions at Shelter Island Sound in New York.

Representing the best and brightest in music supervision at the top ad agencies in the world, these six seasoned executives select, commission and place (and in some cases, create) music for global advertising campaigns for the world’s most recognizable brands. In NARIP’s intimate sessions, you get to meet and pitch them for current opportunities.

Come meet these career-makers.

BACKGROUND

NARIP members have made placements through these limited enrollment sessions, including most recently Peter Kimmel who placed a song from his catalog (“Soul of a Man Never Dies”) in an episode of True Blood and another song in a episode of Dexter (“Jhiara”) following our session with Gary Calamar earlier this year in Los Angeles. You can read more about it here.

Placements secured and professional relationships formed through these meetings are so good that we felt this format would work well for those who represent catalogs and/or seek intimate pitch opportunities with the best (and busiest) ad agency music supervisors in town.

Limited to 15 people, NARIP’s sessions enable you to get to know the supervisors and more importantly, enable them to get to know you. At private sessions in Los Angeles, participants were able to pitch for current opportunities on the spot, receiving instant feedback as to whether a song was appropriate or not, and WHY.

At each session in New York, participants will have the opportunity to pitch music for specific opportunities and get immediate, direct feedback from one ad agency music supervisor.

What attendees say about NARIP’s Music Supervisor Sessions held earlier this year in Los Angeles:

  • “Thank you again for providing one of the more professional and useful events that I have ever attended. It was intimate, precise and well-executed. The feedback was immediate and valuable.” – Eric Caver, PTEC Dojo (attended Andrea von Foerster session)

  • “Another successful and extremely well-organized NARIP event, please keep them coming! … [it was] an amazing opportunity to pitch our music to Gary Calamar in such a personal and focused setting.” – Sven Spieker, Mighty Generation Music (attended Gary Calamar, Andrea von Foerster and Chris Mollere sessions)

  • Very, very informative and helpful. These are fun and the supervisors have been extremely willing to share very useful info. – Catharine Wood, Planetwood Productions (attended Andrea von Foerster, Julianne Jordan and John Houlihan sessions)

  • “I’ve had 3 managers and 5 years of plugging away on the Internet for contacts and had more success getting material in front of a music supervisor with NARIP’s sessions than anything previously! Please keep it up, I will definitely attend more!” – Shay Dillon, Independent

  • “[NARIP’s Music Supervisor series] is a very effective and beneficial program to get contact with the local and national supervisors who run the film and TV industry.” – Robert Case, President, New Pants Publishing (attended Carolyn Richardson, Gary Calamar and Julianne Jordan and sessions)

  • “Last night’s program was awesome, well-organized, inspiring. Chris Mollere was great, with positive yet constructive comments for us all.” – Annie Calder, Coral West Music

DETAILS

What do Jessica Dierauer, Jean Scofield, Paul Greco, Mike Boris, Josh Rabinowitz and Ryan Fitch have in common? They are all special guests at NARIP Music Supervisor Sessions at Shelter Island Sound in New York.

Representing the best and brightest in music supervision at the top ad agencies in the world, these five seasoned executives select, commission and place (and in some cases, create) music for global advertising campaigns for the world’s most recognizable brands. In NARIP’s intimate sessions, you get to meet and pitch them for current opportunities.

Come meet these career-makers.

BACKGROUND

NARIP members have made placements through these limited enrollment sessions, including most recently Peter Kimmel who placed a song from his catalog (“Soul of a Man Never Dies”) in an episode of True Blood following our session with Gary Calamar earlier this year in Los Angeles. The episode with his song airs July 31, 2011 and you can read more about it here.

DETAILS

What do Jessica Dierauer, Jean Scofield, Mike Boris, Josh Rabinowitz and Ryan Fitch have in common? They are all special guests at NARIP Music Supervisor Sessions at Shelter Island Sound in New York.

Representing the best and brightest in music supervision at the top ad agencies in the world, these six seasoned executives select, commission and place (and in some cases, create) music for global advertising campaigns for the world’s most recognizable brands. In NARIP’s intimate sessions, you get to meet and pitch them for current opportunities.

Come meet these career-makers.

At our next series in Los Angeles, participants will have the opportunity to pitch music for specific opportunities for current trailer and film promotional campaigns and get immediate, direct feedback from one trailer house music supervisor.

A NEW ACCESS POINT

“We have created an access point that wasn’t available before,” says Tess Taylor, president of the National Association of Record Industry Professionals (NARIP) and creator of the series. “We’re thrilled with the success of these sessions in London, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Berlin, as are participants. This broadens the access to music, access that might otherwise not exist. We’re grateful for the positive reception we received in London at our first sessions there in November, and look forward to bringing many more to this city that has produced some of the best-loved music in the world.”

NARIP’s sessions diversify potential usage of music and are appropriate for those who represent catalogs of all sizes.

What attendees say about NARIP’s Music Supervisor Sessions (with film / TV and ad agency music supervisors) held in 2011 in London, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Berlin:

  • “Getting personal and immediate feedback… was very valuable.” – Cathi Gibson, Rough Trade (attended Chris Mollere session in London)

  • “Straight talking honesty, love it! Very rare in this industry, the whole event from start to finish was faultless, best event I have been to by far.” – Guy Stanway, ZY Records (attended Chris Mollere and Andrea von Foerster sessions in London)

  • “Most valuable: honest opinions and face time with the supervisors. The overall quality of the event and the people involved was great – friendly, interesting, informative – and most of all very useful. A lot of these seminars promise a lot and deliver very little – these DO deliver. And after being in the industry 15 years, I feel like I actually learnt something!! Great!!!” – Julie Weir, Visible Noise (attended Chris Mollere and Andrea von Foerster sessions in London)

  • “I had a great time last week and learned a lot. It was a real inspiration … I already feel indebted to you for such a fantastic week, it was very exciting to meet you and the team.” – Sarah Llewelyn, Tonal.org.uk (attended Andrea von Foerster session in London)

  • “Such an amazing night … I have been to many such events but have never felt this kind of intimacy and accessibility, and came away feeling like I really made a super connection in the industry. At Jessica [Dierauer’s] session I gave her a CD of 30 and 60 second clips. I can’t wait for the next session!” and feedback following Ryan Fitch’s session: “Last night’s session with Ryan Fitch was wonderful! Ryan is a straight shooter with class and sensitivity and I got a lot out of the session in terms of what he is looking for. I have made incredible contacts in the advertising business because of NARIP and there is no other music networking group that comes close to what NARIP offers, I’m a fan!” Gail Vareilles, Sandshifter Music (attended 5 sessions in New York with Jessica Dierauer, Paul Greco, Mike Boris, Josh Rabinowitz and Ryan Fitch)

  • “Please keep me informed of the next NARIP sessions in London and LA. Once again, many thanks for the opportunity to pitch.” – Reza Davoudi, Nineteen95 Artist Management (attended Andrea von Foerster’s and Gary Calamar’s sessions in Berlin, and Andrea con Foerster’s and Chris Mollere’s sessions in London)

  • “Was lots of fun and learned a ton of new things. Both Jessica and Ed were great.

  • “Thank you very much for the very interesting pitching session with Andrea at the Popkomm. I would be very keen to take part [in NARIP’s London Supervisor Sessions].” – Christoph Becker, Moanin’ Records (attended Andrea von Foerster’s session in Berlin)

  • “Great event with PJ Bloom! Definitely an uncommon opportunity.” and feedback to the Todd Porter San Francisco session: “What a super event last night! Thanks for providing such a unique and excellent opportunity. Where else could I sit down with a top-notch professional like Todd Porter and get immediate feedback on my work? He was very candid and informative, willing to illustrate the ins and outs of the ad business with brilliant clarity. And the chance that he might be able to utilize my music? Invaluable! I’ll be back!” – Joel Evans, Cinemasters (attended PJ Bloom and Todd Porter sessions in San Francisco, and Jessica Dierauer session in New York)

  • “Thank you once again for a fantastic series of supervisor sessions. Looking forward to many more sessions and events with NARIP… Thank you all for your professionalism, earnestness and care in providing the very best for us. We SO appreciate everything you do.

We all went out with Ed [Razzano – program moderator] afterwards (including Ryan) to cap off a great 6-session series [in New York]. I know I speak for all of us, especially the ones like me who attended all of the sessions, when I say that we’re sad that they are ending. – Annie Calder, Coral West Music (attended Chris Mollere’s session in Los Angeles, and 6-part series in New York including sessions with Jessica Dierauer, Jane Scofield, Paul Greco, Mike Boris, Josh Rabinowitz and Ryan Fitch)

NARIP Music Supervisor Sessions:

Intimate Pitch Meetings with Film & TV Music Supervisors

Session #1 with Brian Jones
on Thursday, February 23, 2012
in New York, NY

  • Session #1: Feb 23 with Brian Jones, Music Supervisor, BANG Music (current selection)
  • Session #2: Mar 08 with Michael Hill, Music Supervisor, Nurse Jackie
Jump to registration below, click here.

DETAILS

Brian Jones supervises the CBS hit series Blue Bloods. He selects, licenses and places music for a variety of film and television shows and is currently supervising Lionsgate feature film, The Stare, starring James Franco & Winona Ryder and the web series Undergrads for Rabbit Bandini Productions.

Limited enrollment of 16 people per session guarantees face-time, registrants get brief of supervisor’s CURRENT music needs, a chance to pitch plus immediate feedback. In NARIP’s intimate session, you get to meet and pitch Hill for current opportunities.

Music licensing has grown increasing important as a vehicle to expose and market music. At NARIP’s Music Supervisor Sessions, participants get the inside track on how top music supervisors select music for their projects and do business. Limited enrollment guarantees face-time, one-on-one feedback to music from these career-makers.

SUCCESS STORIES & BACKGROUND

NARIP members have made placements through these limited enrollment sessions, including most recently Peter Kimmel who has secured multiple placements. These include placing “The Big One” in the film Chronicle, “Soul of a Man Never Dies” in an episode of True Blood and “Jhiara” in an episode of Dexter following NARIP sessions with Andrea von Foerster and Gary Calamar earlier this year in Los Angeles. You can read more about it here.

Placements secured and professional relationships formed through these meetings are so good that we felt this format would work well for those who represent catalogs and/or seek intimate pitch opportunities with the best trailer house music supervisors in the business.

Limited to 16 people, NARIP’s sessions enable you to get to know the supervisors and more importantly, enable them to get to know you. At private sessions last year in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Berlin and London participants were able to pitch for current opportunities on the spot, receiving instant feedback as to whether a song was appropriate or not, and WHY. In 1998 he founded Clearsongs Inc. — a full-service music supervision and consulting company for Motion Pictures and Television — where he worked on dozens of films, including Academy Award winners such as Black Swan, The Wrestler and Sicko. Additionally, Jim has been a part of such critically acclaimed films as The Wackness, Kissing Jessica Stein, and Bachelorette. He now brings this knowledge and experience to the world of corporate branding and advertising, advising clients such as Apple and Kohl’s on music strategy and sonic branding. Jim is a classically trained performer who attended Manhattan School of Music and began his career as a professional musician.

Come meet this career-maker.

SMALL IS THE NEW BIG

NARIP’s small sessions (limited enrollment of 16 people per session) guarantee face-time with our guest, registrants get brief of supervisor’s CURRENT music needs, a chance to pitch plus immediate feedback. You get to meet and pitch our guest for current opportunities on the spot, receiving instant feedback as to whether a song or cue is appropriate or not, and most importantly, WHY. This feedback makes better pitches – and ultimately, placements – possible. Participants even have the opportunity to re-work music to better fit a supervisor’s needs.

Placements secured and professional relationships formed through NARIP”s music supervisor sessions have earned praise and and placements! See TESTIMONIALS and PLACEMENTS sections below.

ELEVEN Signings Result From NARIP Pitch Sessions

WHAT TO EXPECT AT A NARIP MUSIC SUPERVISOR PITCH SESSION PREPARATION IS KEY

NARIP Music Supervisor Sessions are limited to an enrollment of just 16 people.  About one week prior to NARIP’s Session, all registrants will get a brief of the guest supervisor’s then-CURRENT music needs. Each registrant will have a chance to pitch in response to the music briefs provided and get immediate feedback to music pitched. Each participant must submit 7 songs (MP3s only please) 36 hours prior to NARIP’s Music Supervisor Session. Please note that due to time constraints you will only be able to pitch your TOP 3 songs for consideration and immediate feedback (more, if time permits). This process takes the mystery out of why a piece of music does or doesn’t fit. On-the-spot feedback enables registrants to re-work tracks and re-submit, which creates a much higher probability to get them licensed (choose well!).

If you do not have music that matches the current needs of the supervisor, fear not! You can still attend and present the top three songs in your catalog.  Make sure the songs are unique and captivating. This is helpful because a music supervisor’s needs change constantly. To optimize impact of music you pitch at NARIP’s Music Supervisor Session, we highly recommend that you target the briefs. Good luck and see you there!

BEFORE NARIP’S PITCH SESSION:

  • NARIP prepares a one-sheet for each participant including your photo and bio for the guest music supervisor to use and review at the event, and to take with him after the event.  We will request your photo and bio one week prior to the event.  In preparing these materials, we recommend you focus on brief career highlights in your bio and have a professional photo available.
  • Approximately 5 to 7 days prior to NARIP’s Session, you will be sent a project brief describing several cues needed for a current project(s) of our guest speaker.  These often include reference songs or links so that you can hear exactly what he seeks or needs to replace.
  • You will submit your tracks with writer, publisher and other rights holder information that will also be supplied to the music supervisor during and after NARIP’s Session.
  • You will get submission and meta-tagging guidelines, and mentoring as to how best to prepare your music for submission.
DURING NARIP’S PITCH SESSION:
  • You will get to play at least three songs (sometimes more, if time permits) for the guest music supervisor who will provide feedback to you for each one.
  • NARIP moderator asks very specific questions to help participants learn and understand how to modify their tracks to make these more place-able for the guest supervisor’s specific needs at hand.
AFTER NARIP’S PITCH SESSION:
  • NARIP provides guest music supervisor with participant one-sheets and all music from NARIP’s Session, including notes detailing the guest music supervisor’s interest in specific tracks.
  • If requested by guest music supervisor, NARIP conveys additional tracks, remixes, instrumentals etc. to him.
  • If approved by guest music supervisor, NARIP provides his contact details to registrants.
DON’T GET LOST IN THE CROWD: SMALL IS THE NEW BIG NARIP Sessions are deliberately kept small and intimate, which is just one reason they work so well and why participants have enjoyed over 1,000 placements to date. Limited enrollment of 16 people per session guarantees that registrants meet and get face-time with our guest. OVER 1,000 PLACEMENTS FROM NARIP MUSIC SUPERVISOR SESSIONS
Our small format works! ABOUT ZACH POLLAKOFF

Zachary Pollakoff is VP and Senior Music Producer at GREY, famously effective since 1917. Born in Chicago and raised in the ‘burbs, Zach was a music person from early on. Though an avid live music fan and in bands throughout Junior High and High School, it was in college at Indiana University when it really became his life. As a DJ–and later the General Manager–at student station, WIUX, he learned about more about music than ever before. He helped the station make the move to FM and then fought alongside state legislators to keep them there. After a stint of LPFM advocacy, Pollakoff moved to Brooklyn to work for indie giant, Beggars Group/Matador Records as a radio and video promoter. From Beggars, Pollakoff proudly founded Twosyllable Records, a finely curated collection of some of his favorite young artists. Later that year, while working on supervising a film–and founding his band, Eastern Midwestern – Pollakoff was introduced to the advertising industry. He spent a few years working at music and film production companies with some amazingly talented people before landing at Grey Group in 2010. At Grey, Pollakoff has worked closely on Cannes-Lion-winning work for DirecTV, E*Trade and the NFL; in 2013 won a National Emmy for his work on original music for Canon “Inspired”; and this year, a Titanium Lion for Unload Your 401k.
